Cia on Wikileaks’s sight

Umpteenth scandal denounced by Wikileaks’ court, when weeks ago, Assange’s organisation published the news consisting of the fact that from many years CIA controls personal data of millions people all around the world.

Cia created indeed a secret program recruiting the best hackers on the planet aiming to prepare an illegal software which included malwares as well. They took advantage of people’s Ios and Androids phones to spy their movements and personal activities by hackering these devices. In some case they also managed to use Smart Tv microphones to keep themselves up to date on people’s various speeches obviously without their knowledge.

Basing on Wikileaks’ published data, it came out that many politicians, managers of leading associations and celebrities various accounts were spied. Apparently also Donald Trump’s twitter profile was a “victim” of this operation.

The operarono was su ch an elaborated one that, in Europe and precisely at the US embassy of Frankfurt, Germany, a Hacker squad was recruited and placed in order to spy people’s movement on the old continent.

Cia did not deny the scoop but Apple and Samsung immediately declared their non-involvement with the facts described, specifying that their softwares have immediately been checked for their users’ peace of mind.

This scandal is alarming governments around the world because these data publications if uncontrolled could break a real global cybernetic war out.
Experts declared that te leak of information brings the high risk of spreading malwares and viruses with catastrophic consequences on a global level in minutes. Malwares would then be accessible to everyone and it goes without saying that the risk of financial and other types of attacks is huge.

Cia is now required to give  official explanations and surely someone will be kicked out. But even more, this event make us understand how dangerous the Web could turn out to be if not used properly by people who transform it into a weapon.

The vogue of veganism

In the last few months, people, mostly through media are slowly directing their mind to this way of thinking and living that is veganism. While living only on products from the Earth is actually called having a “plant based diet”, a true vegan is a person who is actively concerned in animals and the world as a place to guard and protect. Whether it is for health or physic related reasons or also for social engagement, I find this new curiosity uplifting.

To people who ask or mock other people for being vegan i just have this one question: how can you criticise somebody for doing something right, that doesn’t bring any bad to the world or even just to themselves?

Since we are children, we are raised to think of meat as a part of our diet, but we are now in 2017 and we know for sure that we could live well, if anthing better, without it or without animal products. People who have no intention of becoming a vegan but respect those who do or who already are, are perfectly fine as it is but I guess many more people would try this practise if only it was considered with more respect.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT A TIGER LIVING IN THE APARTMENT NEXT  DOOR?

Risultati immagini per tiger living in apartment

The discovery of a 400-pound (180 kilograms), not fully grown, Siberian-Bengal tiger mix living in a New York apartment has leaded animal welfare organizations to call for a ban on private ownership of big cats. The tiger has been placed in an Ohio sanctuary.

Keeping big cats as pets is something quite common in the United States of America. It is estimated that there is a big cat every 34 kilometers depending on the number of animals recordered and the total surface of America. People who own pet big cats include low-income families, high-income families, and teenagers who want them as graduation presents but they do not understand what keeping a dangerous exotic animal means. In some cases the animals have been abused and kept in horrid conditions. Yet even caring owners are not always able to meet the cats’ needs: adequate space, a balanced and expencive diet, stimulating activities and vet assistance.

Lack of uniform federal regulation is a matter of ongoing debate, because these exotic animals have wild instincts that are not likely to be diminished through captivity or training. Six states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Nevada, Alabama and West Virginia) place no restrictions on owning a tiger; 14 states require a permit; and 30 states prohibit ownership. Most of the times there are no federal registers required so the number of big cats in the U.S. is not sure. The molst sold are tigers and the countries where there are most big cats are Florida and Texas. Organisations estimate that there may be as many as 400 to 500 lions, tigers, and other big cats in the Houston area. The breeders are allowed to operate after passing an inspection and paying a fee to be issued a license from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). They often mix the breeds to create new, bigger and more good looking big cats that are sold “on demand” in common pet stores.

Owners often abandon them in residential areas, after hearing about an exotic pet attack or for finantial problems, so the animals get in the best of the cases captured and moved to a zoo or a sanctuary or in the worst of them they get killed to guarantee the safety of the citizens. Placing the big cats into zoos is not a solution. Most zoos do not accept animals without a clear genetic background, something that the privately bred cats generally lack, and captive-bred cats cannot be returned to the wild.

Animalists are concerned that the problem will grow unless new regulations are introduced or other action is taken to restrict the trend. This is not just an animal problem, this is a problem that affects people that get attacked, mauled or eaven killed by their wild pets.

A mortal journey

Dealing with the problem of immigrants has always been difficult for Europe. We hear about men who abuses of women, people who die during the travel but what do we know about children?

UNICEF called this phenomenon “a mortal journey for kids”. Everything starts in Libya in the detention camps. Here children are reduced to slavery but also sexually abused. They have no food, drink and medical treatments. Some of them were also killed.
Kamis, nine years old, left Nigeria with her mother but then after traveling through the desert she found herself alone in Libya.
“We were punished every day- she explains to a Onu operator- we had anything to drink. The place was very sad. We had nothing”
The assailant are usually men wearing uniform, this is the reason why most the crimes are not reported.
The UNICEF organisation said they had access only to half of these camps. People lived in groups of twenty in very little cells. Relation states that among 181.436 immigrants who came in Europe, 16% of them are minor and 9 of 10 them are alone. Besides among the 4.579 dead immigrants, 700 were minor.
UNICEF provided a program to protect these children:
1 protect refugees and immigrant kids from abuses.
2 make the detention of children ending.
3 keep together families, in order to protect children.
4 give children the opportunity to study and to receive medical treatments.
5 trying to avoid xenophobia when arriving to the new country.
In conclusion, try not to focus just on adults who came in our country and steal our jobs. Let’s consider kids too. They have the right to study and to create themselves a new life.

Promiscuity by Ella

It goes without saying that promiscuity is one of the most important issues facing us today, yet we rarely seem to truly understand what it really concerns.
First of all, it’s safe to assume that promiscuity is a consequence to a much more than liberal society. We live in a modern world, where the more is the better. The more you drink, the cooler you look. The more you hook up with strangers, the more you look great in front of your friends. Of course there’s always the debate between male promiscuity (which appears to be more accepted) and female promiscuity (which is, in contrary, doomed).
As an 18 year old female teenager, living in a world where random pick ups are praised all over, is a bit difficult. There’s a lack of morals and values that are not to be taken for granted. Promiscuity is fine, but it stops being fine when it gets acclaimed as it is the only way of being accepted as “cool”.
In conclusion, it may seem utopic, but I dream of a world where moral values are equally balanced, and where female promiscuity is just the same as male promiscuity.

Enough money for a family?

Irene Clennell came to London in 1988, she got the residency permit in 1990. In Edinburgh she has a family and she is married with a british man, she became a grandmother too but, after 27 years of marriage, something completely changed her life. The police came to her house and took her to a detention centre, this was the first step before sending her back to where she was born: Singapore. The reason was because of the years she spent out of the UK, probably because she had to take care of her parents. She hopes to be allowed to come back to England and live with her family again, her husband and the rest of the family need her.
Irene has a western culture and she wouldn’t be accepted in Singapore, she is british and even her clothes show it.
To allow a partner to live in the UK, his spouse has to earn 18600 pounds, this inflexible law was promoted by the current prime minister Theresa May, in order to control immigration in Britain. Some of the families that have one of the two partners out of England are forced to keep in touch by using social network, because they can’t afford to bring the partner back to his family in the UK. For lots of british people, love still has an high price and maybe Britain should pay more attention to the needs of thousands of children, who should have the chance to live with both parents, under the same roof. Being well integrated in a foreign country is really important but is it actually so relevant to earn such an amount of money just to see the hole family reunited? The case of the Clennells is just an example, because lots of families have the same problem and are still trying to solve it.

Aid-in-dying: is it a human right?

Some days ago an Italian man decided to end his life because of a bad accident that left him blind and tetraplegic. In Italy the Physician aid-in- dying is not yet legal, so he asked help with a video to the Italian politicians to facilitate laws about euthanasia. In the same way, last year in California a woman  affected by braincancer, who  could not speak and needed always to be aided wanted to die, but, as in Italy, in California the aid- in -dying was not possible yet. She published a video in which she asked to have the possibility to die, too. In these two similar stories there is an important difference: the American woman  had soon the right of dying in her country, at home with her family and her physician, while the Italian man could not. He had to move to Switzerland, where this is legal, because his government did not make anything to furfil his desire. But also in America this is a thorny matter; some American states permit euthanasia since years, such as Washington, Vermont, Montana and Oregon, while others, as Colorado, California and Columbia have just approved this measure. But this is not enough and there are still lots of barriers; many physicians do not agree with this relief and can refuse the inferm’s request, the patients have to be conscient about their choice, and some States do not finance the elevate costs of lethal drugs. Sometimes, when patients have waited until late in their illnesses, they die before they can become eligible for assisted death. Or they become physically or mentally incapacitated to take the drugs themselves, as legally required, even if they do qualify.
But can the State or other people prevent the will of a disabled person who wants to end his worthless life, even if this act is considered immoral and unjust? This is the centre of many debates in these days, but, fortunately, now those two persons are both finally free.

Lethal brotherhood

kim-jong-un-kim-jong-nam

As horrible as it sounds, it should come of no surprise to us that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un uses violence and revenge on those who even are suspected of neglecting his regime; it also does not strike the public opinion as much anymore, that he treats all his potential enemies the same way, even when they come from his own family tree.

What is instead alarming is the fact that, as Kim Jong-un has already proved, strict violence, torture, political purges and premeditated killings amongst the so-called “defectors” are normal.

Lately the despotic young ruler of North Korea seems to have reserved a particular treatment to his elder half-brother Kim Jong-nam. He was the heir apparent to his father Kim Jong-il in 2010 but then after a series of actions showing dissent to the regime, he was thought to have fallen out of favour with him.

On the 13th of February 2017 Kim Jong-nam was assassinated in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport with a nerve agent called VX, which led to his fast but painful death in less than 20 minutes, after he was accosted and rubbed with the substance by two young women, still on the run.

Of course the involvement of the North Korean leader still cannot be assured, but as international spy agents and former diplomats under Kim Jong-un’s government have said: “Two North Korean ministries orchestrated the plot to kill Kim Jong-nam on the orders of his half-brother”.

If a dictator is prepared to put a whole international airport in danger because of a lethal nerve agent, able to kill in a few minutes anyone who just inhales it; if he is ready to sell weapons to the terrorists and eliminate anyone who blocks his way, boycotting human rights, then we should expect to hear again from him, hoping something soon will be done about it.

Will he make America great again?

trump

As the New Year approaches and so does the date when the President-elect Donald J. Trump will be taking office on January 20th, the world’s eyes are once again fixed upon the U.S. It seemed as though the Republican candidate could not make it against a hardened Mrs. Clinton whose career and presidential campaign as well as her experience and talent of speech prompted almost everyone to prepare for the very first female U.S. President.

But now that America has voted and is waiting for the next move, why not draw the conclusion and give an opinion about what the American elections represented, about who the main characters were and how their choice of campaign was decisive for the final outcome?

The campaign draws heavily on Trump’s personal image, improved by his previous media exhibit. Before to his presidential debates, The Trump Organization also relied on the ‘Trump’ surname as a key part of its marketing strategy. Consequently, the ‘Trump’ name was in widespread use in the U.S. well before the presidential campaign itself started. Established the successful branding and media coverage, Trump soon gained leverage in the race despite spending comparatively little on advertising himself.

Here are seven keys of Trump’s campaign:

  1. Cancel Obama executive actions on immigration and guns: Trump has promised to rescind Obama’s immigration and gun executive orders, to eliminate Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents and to ban gun-free zones in schools and on military bases.
  2. Ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare: Trump promised to repeal Obama’s signature health care law. He’d establish tax deductions for health care premiums, allow the purchase of health insurance across state lines and create block grants for state Medicaid programs.
  3. Suspend immigration from “terror-prone” countries and implement “extreme vetting.”
  4. Renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement or withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
  5. Impose tariffs on goods made abroad.
  6. Build a wall and have Mexico pay for it.
  7. Enact the Trump tax plan: it collapses the seven federal income tax brackets into three, reducing the top marginal rate from 39.6 percent to 33 percent, and lowers the corporate tax rate from 35 to 15 percent, among other things.

This election involved not just politicians but also actors and singers. We saw that most of them were supporters of Hilary Clinton, trying to influence the population during their concerts but also with their posts on social media. Trump, instead, didn’t get the help of American icons. It seemed like he was disadvantaged and hated but at the end he was the one who made it. He used only his voice to conquer the American population.

Both Trump and Clinton were great candidates with lots of electors, their campaigns were successful but probably Trump was able to meet the needs of the Americans in a better way. He understood the problems of common people and spoke directly to them. A lot of people in America felt their country needed a change so, when the moment of the elections came, they made a choice.
